Designing Hope- Romás by Linda Rowe Thomas presents the 2nd Annual Fashion Fundraiser, in Little Rock benefitting Arkansas Children’s Hospital and Camp Sunshine

Little Rock, October 18, 2011-Linda Rowe Thomas, CEO and Designer for Romás, will debut her Spring/Summer 2012 Collection, in efforts to assist young burn survivors. The show will be held November 17, 2011 at 7:30 p.m. at Next Level Events, Genesis III Room (1400 W. Markham ST, Little Rock, AR 72201). Proceeds for the runway show will benefit Camp Sunshine and Arkansas Children’s Hospital.

Designer Linda Rowe Thomas, originally from Douglassville, TX, takes pride in fashion and inspiring others to look beyond their circumstances. The self-taught designer and mother of two lives with hand and facial scarring, resulting from a house fire at the age of 2. She passionately uses her success in the fashion industry to give back and support young burn survivors.  Thomas hopes that the annual event will not only raise funds for Camp Sunshine but has set a personal goal to bring awareness to an often unnoticed cause as well as aide in future lifesaving treatments and research for burn patients.

Thomas’ Spring/Summer 2012 collection was recently featured at The Emerging Trends 2011-Boston Fashion Week runway show Saturday, September 24, 2011 at the Boston Center for the Arts-Cyclorama. Thomas’ admiration for the style of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, define the importance of timeless classics and contemporary style in each collection. 

Since Thomas’ Spring 2010 debut at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, her' designs have graced the red carpet at the Gospel Stellar Awards, the Golden Globe events, the 2011 ESPY'S and have been worn by many celebrities including Kathy Jordan Sharpton, Dawn Neufeld of VH1’s Football Wives, WNBA's Candice Wiggins and more. Linda was named among the 2011 Trendsetters and named “One to Watch” by the New York Examiner. Thomas' designs were recently featured in Heart and Soul June July issue worn by WNBA's Candice Wiggins.

Camp Sunshine was founded in 1991 by a nurse who worked at the Burn Center who had the desire to develop a camp for children who survived burn injuries. The goal of the camp is to promote physical and emotional healing as well as growth and development of burned children.
 
For nearly 20 years, Camp Sunshine has been generously sponsored and co-organized by the Arkansas Professional Firefighters Association. They conduct fund-raisers throughout the year to make the camp free for survivors.

Dawn is also the host of D210 TV (www.d210.tv) a show featuring the latest in entertainment sports. Dawn recently wrapped up a stint co-hosting The Bite. Dawn is also featured in a series of Smart Tips for the Fine Living Network.
